Born in 1888 in Maryville, Missouri to a poor farmer, Dale Carnegie went to become the developer of famous courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, and corporate training programs. He is also well known for the public speaking courses that bear his name. Carnegie wrote “How to Win Friends and Influence People” in 1936. The book sold over 15 million copies. Carnegie died in 1955.
